CHECKOUT

The CHECKOUT exhibition was focusing on the history of the legendary Chelsea Hotel in New York that was owned and managed by the Hungarian Bard family. With hundreds of artists living under one roof, a very special community was formed. A loose network of creative people like Arthur Miller, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Leonard Cohen, Janis Joplin, Andy Warhol, Jack Kerouac, Jackson Pollock, Allen Ginsberg, Yves Klein, Christo, Patti Smith, Robert Mapplethorpe… who all defined the post-war decades of New York.
